Biography
Luther is a year and a half old teddy bear who is highly loyal and likes to work. He has an unlimited source of energy, has been professionally trained with the K9 Consultant based out of Memphis, TN, and he is very good with basic training commands: sit, down, heel, back, shake, place/crate, touch, etc.
He would do really well with an owner who is very physically active, has other high energy dogs, has a job for him to do, or who has a large backyard or a lot of land for him to run. He would make a great protection dog.
His favorite place is the Shelby Farms Dog park. He enjoys playing fetch and tug, but he absolutely LOVES when other dogs chase him around the park. He's also a great running companion.
PLEASE NOTE - he has a bite history and is highly protective of the humans who he considers family. He DOES NOT do well with kids or strangers. He does well with other dogs and cats. Ideally I think he should be rehomed with someone who is familiar with the protective nature of the Belgian Malinois breed and with someone who specifically wants a dog who is naturally protective.
I love Luther. He's an amazing dog, but I'm rehoming him because I recently went through a career change and now have to work 24 hour shifts that require him to be boarded for long periods of time. I think he deserves more out of life than to be crated a majority of the day for multiple days in a row, so I'm looking for a new home that can provide him with a higher quality of life by keeping engaged physically and mentally.
