Biography
This is my sweet girl, Leila. We moved out here from the midwest to get away from an abusive situation, and though I love her very much I am unable to be the owner she needs. All i want is for her to be in a loving home, with someone she can have a new life with to heal from what her past has been. She’s house trained and knows basic commands, and would really excel at agility training. She loves playing fetch and the ball is the love of her life. She also really likes playing in water.
I marked that she should be the only pet, but in truth she would probably do great with another dog once she’s past her anxiety. She grew up with a brother and before her anxiety took a hold of her, she didn’t have any problems with other dogs or people. However, given what we’ve suffered together, she’s incredibly nervous and scared around new people and animals, especially men. She does fine with a female vet, but if it’s a man she will need to be on trazadone.
She is not currently spayed, but I would be willing to have her fixed before adoption. She does have a chicken/egg allergy and does really well on Stella & Chewy’s wild red ocean recipe food, which I understand is a bit pricey so I’d be glad to help pay at first.
She is not aggressive, but i do want to stress she is incredibly fearful. She has never once intentionally put her teeth on anyone, not even when she was teething. But for her safety and that of others she should be muzzled if in a very frightening situation.
Ultimately, I want her to be in a home where she can flourish past her trauma and anxiety and be the amazing dog I know she can be.
