Hi, I’m Cap, a Beagle/Russell Mix.
I am 12 years old, very playful and I love going on walks and smelling things. I am very gentle and LOVE to cuddle for hours!!
I have a calm and playful demeanor, but I will never opt out of an opportunity to play tug-of-war, I am not a fan of fetching.
I am very friendly with other animals (Dogs & Cats) and I love attention from humans of all ages.
I am quiet, but, I will let you know if someone is at the door.

Now that I am getting wiser (older) and my run in with heartworms (cured) when I was was first adopted at 2-years old, I prefer mid-light cardio and lots of naps aka Cuddle Opportunities.

Mickey is a loving and affectionate companion who values his alone time. He’s a gentle soul who enjoys showing love and receiving attention from his humans, but also appreciates his personal space. When it’s time to leave the house, Mickey is trained to retreat to his crate, which provides a sense of security and helps alleviate his separation anxiety. When it comes to other dogs, he’s selective, getting along well with smaller and medium breeds but does not like larger dogs. While he’s tolerant of children, he’s easily startled and prefers to avoid them altogether. We have had him from when our babies were newborn and our oldest is now 6. He has not been around older children, but I am guessing he would be okay with them because they are more predictable than a toddler/young child.

Looking for a sweet, soft, medium-sized love-bug of a dog?
Millie is a young, laid back, perfect lady. She likes going around and sniffing but loves being by your side even more. (Or in your lap of course).
At 45 lbs She appears to be a little bit of Beagle and a whole lot of hound.
Like so many, she was found wandering a rural road hungry, with apparently no one looking for her. She was very happy to be found.
She likes other dogs and gets on great with the four in our house.
She’s never gone potty in the house, is fine and even likes sleeping in a crate, rides well in the car, and is the easiest hound I’ve yet to encounter. I was told by her initial finder that she did fine around farm animals. She does not appear to do so well with cats.
The shelter and rescues were not able to help her when she was found due to them all being full.
I have gotten her up to date on all vaccines and microchipped. She MUST be spayed! She has an appointment on June 4th with a low-cost spay/neuter program and a lovely couple has already covered the cost of that if you’re local enough to Asheville or Rutherford County and want to use their service.
I have rescued and foster a lot of dogs and she really is special, with such a sweet demeanor.
